Give Voice To Your Life Experiences

I am passionate about encouraging women to speak out. Speak out your pain so you can speak your transformation. Share what you have gained from your life experiences. There are many ways to express this: writing, speaking, teaching, and more.

I am grateful that one of the ways God has given me to speak out is through writing. It has been a tool for my healing and my voice and has helped other women find their own voices, too. Giving voice to what almost cost me my life allows me to give voice to my journey, helping others profoundly.

What voice do you need to give to your life experiences? Could it become a treasure for your children and grandchildren? I believe it can. However, if you never speak out, you may never fully understand its power.

One day, I asked my mom if she would allow me to tell her story. I know she has endured much, yet her story remains untold because she won’t share it with me. I wanted to help her speak out by writing her journey. Her message, as her daughter, is something I long to hear. She wasn’t ready, and that’s okay.

As I’ve continued to write over the years, my writing has transformed. In my last book, Compare Me Not, I noticed the shift. Instead of sharing my journey, I used my life experiences to teach principles. Without that first step of writing, I wouldn’t be here.

Many women have told me, “I need to write a book.” My response is always, “Just Write.” This inspired me to start Girl, Just Write to offer tips for women eager to bring their voices into the world through nonfiction. The journey of writing isn’t easy. It is a process, and it can be done.

Consider this: the experiences you have overcome carry life tools and steps to move forward. Writing empowers you. Each word takes the part of you that was hurt to a deeper level of healing. Think about what you need to give voice to. What stories have you kept silent, even though you’ve felt the call to write?

What would it mean to you, your daughter, and your granddaughters to hear your empowering message? How might they connect with you on a different level?

Is it time to give voice to your life story?

Stay tuned—I will soon offer group and individual coaching for those who are ready to write their Non-Fiction Book.
